Rebel Sworn: Chapter 2, Part 2, The First Spark - A Star Wars Inspired Starforged Solo Campaign
With the spark ignited, Keer must uncover the secrets he’s been sent to find.
Welcome back to part 2 of Chapter 2. So I’ll do chapters in two parts, and when the chapter is done I’ll do the traditional End a session and begin a session move.
If this is the first chapter of Rebel Sworn you've read, be sure to check out the chapter list for the campaign.
The last chapter had Keer struggling against a squad of Imperial Army Troopers as he blew his way inside of an Imp compound. With the troopers defeated, he must now retrieve the information he's been sent to find.
Let's now jump straight into Rebel Sworn: Chapter 2, Part 2, The First Spark.
---
I whistle loudly for R5. That lazy droid is never around when the blaster fire starts. I still need the stupid thing. I’d love to reprogram it but I don’t think I’d be able to get it up and running again if I did that. So I’m stuck with a lazy, cowardly droid. R5 comes moving over the plains and through the hole I blasted through the walls, moving slowly as always. He finally reaches me and I say “R5, well well, I’m glad you missed out on the fight.” R5 beeps a few tones, which I interpret as some insult. Well, the feeling is mutual.
“R5, hack into the console and see if we can access the data. It's only a matter of time before those bucket heads figure out the exploding car was just a trick.’’ I try to see how bad my back is wounded from the blaster bolt. It hurts like hell, but I’m still moving so I guess it's not so bad. Any shot you walk away from is a good one in my opinion.
R5 whistles a low tone I take for a smart remark but then it goes to the terminal to start trying to access it. As much of a pain R5 is, that droid can be a lifesaver. It starts to access the data port and now it's only a matter of time before R5 hacks in or we have to find a different way into the data cores.

Gather Information +4 Using R5's health as an asset to hack into the system
Challenge 10,2 vs Action 5+4, Weak hit +2 Momentum (one for the move and one for the asset use, now 7 Momentum)
How does the data retrieved complicated the quest? Let’s roll on the Descriptor-Focus tables. Preserved Battleground. Wow. OK, the first thing that jumps out at me is the Imperials found a ship or weapon that belongs to the Separatists and are trying to get to it. The whole Mid-Rim was a giant battleground between the Separatists and the Republic during the Clone Wars. That makes sense and also sounds like a super cool plot thread!
R5 starts chirping widely. ‘’What are you going on about you silly Droid? What do you mean they found a Separatist Dreadnaught? Here? On Boz Pity? A karking Separatist dreadnaught! That’s big news. If the Imps get that up and running they will have the firepower to wipe out anything the Rebellion’s got. We need to pass this up the chain.’’
Reach a Milestone on Dangerous Vow to retrieve or destroy Data from the outpost.
Progress on vow = 6 boxes
R5 keeps hacking into the data port and making more and more beeps. This is taking too long. Those bucket heads will be here any minute now. I’m a dead lizard if I get caught inside this outpost. "Alright R5. Get the data we were asked to get and finish up. I’m wiring this place up for an explosion. It’s going to be a really big explosion.’’ I love nothing more than blowing up Imp stuff. I rifle through my bag for the biggest boom I got.
Check Your Gear +4 with Supply
Challenge 7,3 Vs Action 4+4= 8, Strong Hit. +1 Momentum (now 8)
Reach a Milestone on Dangerous Vow to retrieve or destroy Data from the outpost.
Progress on vow = 8 boxes
Oh yes. I find what I’m looking for. I knew I would never leave home without it. Picture a Thermal detonator, now picture a Thermal Detonator’s big brother. Now picture the big brother’s big brother. Yeah, that’s what I got. A Separatist built Nova Detonator. They don’t make these anymore. Something about it being unstable, whatever. Hey if it goes off early, it isn’t like it will be my problem anymore right?
I head to the support pillar in the outpost and wire it up with a short timer. I don’t want those Storm Troopers to get a chance to play with it. ‘’R5! Hurry up. I’m about to arm this thing and we need to be leaving’’. R5 makes more clearly offensive whistles and beeps and disconnects from the terminal. It singles that it has the data. Now time to blow this place.
The detonator is armed. We don’t have long to get out. R5 is already rolling out of the compound and I’m not far behind. Of course, I look back to see the explosion.
Face Danger +2 with Shadow, Explosive Score 3 - Overcharged
Challenge 5,9 Vs Action 2+2=4, Miss
Pay the Price - The environment or terrain introduces a new hazard
The Nova works as planned. That’s why I took Nova as my Rebel callsign. The explosion is beautiful. Then it grows. And grows. Woah, this is larger than it should be. Then a secondary explosion rocks the ground and another. Kark! What did those Imps have in that place? The already broken and cracked ground starts to split. I continue to sprint and R5 is still ahead of me. When it comes to danger, that droid moves fast.

Fulfil My Vow
Action 6,10 vs 8 Progress, Weak Hit.
2 Ticks on Quest Legacy Track, New Vow to set things right
1 Tick for background vow of avenging Keer’s family
I truck back to Obsidian’s Wrath with R5 in tow. The mission is accomplished. I’ve done everything that was asked of me, and yet I feel like I need to do more. If the Imps get that Dreadnaught flying, it's over for us Rebels in this sector. We got nothing to match its power, we’d have to get a Mon Cal cruiser out here, and the fleet has bigger priorities. The only reason we are giving the Imps a run for their credits is that they are too stretched to get many capital ships here.
That settles it. I must get to the dreadnaught and get it up and running for the Rebels before the Imps can. I make it back to the ship and R5 pulls up beside me. I put my hand on its dome and say ‘’Well, little buddy. Looks like our job isn’t done. We need to get to that Separatist Dreadnaught before the bucket heads can get it flying. You with me?’’ R5 makes two beeps and a click. I think that means yes.
Swear an Ironvow
A Formidable Vow - Activate the Dreadnaught for the Rebels
Challenge 1,6 vs Action 3+2=5
Using Bannersworn I can reroll one dice on an Iron vow if it's to what Keer has dedicated himself to, so I’ll reroll the 6 challenge dice. A 1! Oh wow! That turns it into a Challenge 1,1 Vs a 5 Action score.
So a Strong hit with a match! I’ll roll on Descriptor and Focus for this match. Civilized Discovery. I’ll say Keer knows someone in town who would know how to get the ship running.
+1 Bonds tick for Bannersworn and +2 momentum (now 10 Momentum)
As I make it to the Wrath, an idea strikes me. I’ll need to stop by Boz City, a disgusting city in name only, and visit my favourite Twi’lek, Zhar'seca.

End Session
I don’t think I’ve missed any milestones, I haven’t strengthened ties to any relationships (unless you count the Mud troopers), and I already have a focus for the next session.
