Welcome back to Queenless! Let's jump straight into the adventure. Thimble has found two jars of jelly but needs four more to save her Hive!

Check out Queenless here!

Time to continue traveling through The Valley to find the remaining jars of Royal Jelly. We have obtained two and need four more to save the hive! Let's get started.

---

I have obtained my second jar of Royal Jelly! I am a proud little bee, but my job is not yet complete. The journey is tiring (2 fatigue out of 5), but I must continue to push on. I dash to the next region!

10,3 Vs 6+2+2=10, Budding (weak hit)

I add a region to the map. It's a 10, so it isn't a special region with any insects or creatures. I roll on the region table and get sunflowers. So pleasant!

I discover a stunning field of sunflowers. Oh, if I wasn't so busy, I'd take the time to drink all their delicious nectar. But I am in a rush. Still, there may be something useful I can find here that another insect may find valuable. I carefully look around.

Search for Treasure +0 with Patience

7,2 vs 5+6=11, In Bloom (strong Hit) Add 2 Treasure

I search the field and find two old discarded sunflower seeds. Possibly someone will find them valuable in the future. That's all I can find here, so I move on carefully.

9, Queen (12) vs 6+2=8, Wither +1 Fatigue (3)

The sunflowers are quite thick, and I lose my way. I can't find my way out! I start to panic. What if I'm stuck here forever? I won't be able to save the hive, and it will slowly perish. I fly as fast as I can to try to break out of this field.

Confront Risk +2 with Quick

5, Ace (1) vs 2+1+2=5, Budding

A partial success. I'll say I dropped a treasure on my way out.

I fly so far and fast that I don't notice a sunflower seed slipping out of my arms. Oh well, I still have one, which I hope will be enough for whatever it brings. I fly into the new region and survey what I've found.

Ok, with that success, I discovered a new region, and because it's a face card, I also found the next creature that has a jar of Jelly. This region has lots of Ferns and Dragonfly, the noble knight of the sky.

This new place is covered in these dark green leafy ferns, not a flower in sight. An odd place, I don't think many bees come to. I see something dart around the ferns. What is that? A friend or foe? I can't tell from here. I fly in a little closer and get a good view.

It's Dragonfly! A friend to the bees and to me personally. When I was attacked by several wasps, it was Dragonfly who came to my aid, fighting them away and taking me to safety. What joy! He has a jar of Royal Jelly, and he may give it back without question.

But first, I'll have to catch up to him. I dash as hard as I can to get to him.

Confront Risk +2 with Quick

9,2 vs 6+4+2=12, Blooming

I catch up to Dragonfly as he races between ferns. I shout out, "Dragonfly! Slow down, I cannot keep up."

He looks back in amusement, "Is that you Thimble? What brings you to this place? Surely not flowers, because there are none here as you can see."

"I hate to ask Dragonfly, but I need the jar of Royal Jelly we gave you long ago. Our hive is in danger, and..."

Dragonfly cuts me off, "No need to explain, little bee. It is yours. Let me give it to you." He flies away and comes back with the jar.

"Now be careful, little bee. I've seen the shadow of Sparrow flying around the valley lately. If it catches you, there is little you can do against it. Be careful."

"Thank you, Dragonfly! I will be careful."

I'm doing great and making so much progress! I plow ahead in my search for more of the Royal Jelly. No time to waste!

King (13), 4 vs 1+6+2=9, Budding - Add one card to the map. Region is Shubbery

I fly around looking for anything of note but can only find thick shrubbery, and I can't see into it. In my haste, I don't wait around to find anything but hurry onward.

Jack (11), 9 vs 5+5+2=12, In Bloom

Add two new region cards. One is filled with Sunflowers, and the other with Grass and The Praying Mantis. Well, Mantis has a jar of Royal Jelly, so I reckon it's time to go confront him and see if I can get it back.

I fly as quickly as my wings can take me into a field of long grass. Flying into the grass, my vision becomes constrained, and I cannot see much past my wingtips. I see a blur of something moving. It's green, and then I don't see it anymore. What was it? Nothing, I'm sure.

Then from nowhere, I'm snatched! Grabbed from the air. I'm being held tight! I must fight back!

So combat rules for Queenless, you try to stack cards on a baddie until you've defeated them. But beware, failure to do so means you'll take fatigue and may have to retreat. I'll have to stack 8 cards on Mantis to defeat it. Wish Thimble some luck!

Fight a Creatures +2 with Quick

Queen (12), 6 Vs 2+3+2=7, Budding One stack on the Mantis

I twist and turn to try to get out of the vice-like grips. I twist fast and faster, eventually getting away. And I see it. Mean, green, with sharp claws and sharper jaws! Mantis. Before I can say a word, it lunges at me.

Fight a Creature +1 with Forceful

4, 8 Vs 5+3+1=9, In Bloom, Two more cards on the Stack (3)

I push off, and with all my force, I slam into its chest. It cannot grab me because I'm moving with such strength. I may be a little bee, but I'm fighting for my hive!

Fight a Creatures +1 with Forceful

Jack (11), 10 Vs 6+2+1=9, Wither

I dart in for another blow, but Mantis is quick and won't go down easy. It bats me away and drives in with its jaws.

Evade Danger +2 with Speed

4,6 Vs 3+6+2=11, In Bloom

I dart out of the way quickly and ready myself for another strike against Mantis and its evil claws.

Fight a Creature +1 with Forceful

7,5 vs 5+6+1=12, In Bloom (both cards are spades, so count as two each. (7).

I drive my stinger deep into the chest of Mantis. I did not want to harm it, but I felt I needed to save myself and my hive.

Fight a Creature +1 with Forceful

A(1), Jack (11) vs 4+1+1=6, Budding, 1 Card to the stack. (8).

I twist the stinger, and I see the eyes of Mantis close. It was an evil insect, it hunted and killed many bees. But I cannot help but feel bad about its death. Alas, I do what I must for my hive. I search him and find he was carrying a jar of our Royal Jelly. At least I have something to show for my battles.

Near exhaustion, I fly back to my hive for recovery.

With my exhaustion near five and my story deck almost empty, I'll need to fly home to recover a bit.

I was looking forward to going home, to see my friends and family, but I wasn't ready to see what was there. Despair and sadness. Bees do not do well without a Queen. A queen is what holds us together and binds us. I speak to Stitch, who sent me on my quest.

"Ah, Thimble, you are back, and with four jars of Jelly! We may have hope after all! Well, you just need to find two more, and we can have hope. But hurry, little bee, or it will be too late!"

I nod, rest a bit, and then fly off. No time to waste!

--

Well, just two jars left to be found! Hopefully, Thimble can find them!
